Bonnyton Golf Club, near Eaglesham in East Renfrewshire, has strengthened its capability to spray and spread with the delivery of a new sprayer, utility vehicle, and top dresser from Fairways GM, Inchinnan.
Head Greenkeeper, Stuart MacDonald worked closely with Fairways GM’s Area Sales Manager, Stuart Cameron, to specify a package suited to the demands of the historic moorland course.
The club chose a Cushman Truckster XD, paired with a Gambetti Pro Mount sprayer and a GKB SP100 top dresser.
Stuart MacDonald said:
“The new kit brings our spraying and spreading right up to date.
The Cushman Truckster is a repeat purchase for us. We know it’s worth, having one already for transporting tools and materials around the course. This one is dedicated to the two new machines.
“There isn’t a week that goes by without spraying somewhere on the course, so the new sprayer will live on the Cushman most of the time, only coming off when the top dresser is called into action.
“We’re impressed by the Gambetti. The improvement in spraying accuracy and quality is immediate. Everything is now to a higher standard; the hydraulic booms and induction chamber make life easier for the three of us who use it. There are lots of incremental benefits that just make a better job. We also expect the same from the new top dresser; the bigger hopper instantly means it is more productive than before. We planned these upgrades for the new season, and we are off to a positive start.”
